Poop eater.

Brick covered himself in oatmeal from head to toe. So I decided to throw him in the sink for a quick wash because we were running late, no time for a bath.

I pulled off his PJs, and his (I thought) fresh morning diaper, but too late did I realize it was plastered in poop. The Diaper feel to the floor and the baby wiggled and somewhere in this process I got poop all over my shirt and I tried wipe the poop off the dangling baby with a rag and as I put the baby in the sink, my poop shirt got poop on the counter. Yes. Poop on my kitchen counter. So I took off the shirt, and washed the baby and wiped the poop. And the crisis seemed to be over.

Until I came back from dressing the baby, and saw the forgotten diaper on the floor.
Poopless.

And the dog trotting away trying to look innocent.

Vile filthy beast is never coming in this house again. At least not until dh gets home to brush his teeth and wash his face, because I'm not gonna do it.

Preschool Graduation

Blossom "graduated" from preschool today. And Buttercup cried and cried because she didn't get to sit up front with her sister. And then we watched a movie of the class and every time Blossom was on camera, Buttercup would jump up and down and scream her name, Blossom! Blossom!

Blossom Loves the Flowers

"Mommy, Can I take pictures of the flowers?"

"Sure."

I have to tell you, I'm in love with the cheapness of digital film plus the perspective of a four-year-old.

shrunk

"Look mom," Buttercup says, "it shrunk and shrunk and shrunk." The look on her face deadly serious. Her manner grave. "My blranket, it shrunk and shrunk." She holds up her pillow sham, just out of the washer, tries to cover herself, "It too small." Dh and I giggle and giggle. "It too small. It baby Brick's blranket now." She walks down the hall and throws it into his room.

I'm still impressed that she knows what "shrunk" means, can pronouce it so that I understood, and can to use it correctly.

Slug Juice

My garden is a slug party, and there's not much I can do about it.

Today I was pulling weeds and the slugs were everywhere. I needed a spot to deposit them because I'm no good at killing them directly through squishy violence. I prefer a less direct method of death. Today I choose drowning because one of the girls left a cup o' water right next to me.

I dropped slug after slug into the glass.

Plop.

Plop.

Plop.

The girls would come over and look.

"Eewww. Disgusting. Mom that's gross."

Then daddy brought Brick out into the yard.

"What is that?" I hear dh say, grabbing the slug juice away from Baby Brick's lips.

Yes. That's right.

He was drinking slug juice.

I think this may just be the most disgusting moment of my entire life.
And that's saying a lot.
