Cheerio and Butter Sandwiches
I thought they were just playing quietly. What a fool.
The sound of the microwave opening is what tipped me off. They were going to cook it.
They used an entire cube of butter. In thick layers over all the counter tops and five slices of bread. I suspect the cheerioes were more for looks than for flavor.

MMMmmmm! For some reason this reminds me of the time when I was in kindergarten and my sister and I spread margerine all of the linoleum in the kitchen so we could go "ice skating". It really was fun, until we got caught. Mom was SO mad!

my daughter used to LOVE to eat butter. She would eat it out of the tub if we let her! and yes the sandwich is very aesthecitcally pleasing...
Suzie: My friend and her siblings would spray murphy's oil on their linoleum in their kitchen and would slide on that... they were a riot!

Garnishing is a really important culinary skill!
I think you and I have the same microwave. Amana? Yours is cleaner.
My kids' favorite kitchen experience all involve vinegar and baking soda. Who's the idiot who showed them that? Me.
